HRAPF Holds Awareness Workshops on Abortion

HRAPF’s Community Capacity Enhancement Program has continued to achieve its objective of empowering marginalized persons and stakeholders to be able to promote the respect of human rights. In the previous months, the Program has conducted 5 awareness sessions on the laws and policies that govern abortion in Uganda. These sessions were held with sex workers in Kyenjojo and Mbarara and Health workers in Luwero, Mityana and Mubende. The purpose of the workshops is to equip these persons with information on Uganda’s legal and policy frameworks on abortion, in order to enable them seek and provide safe abortion services. HRAPF remains committed to contributing to the reduction in the deaths of women and girls that occur due to preventable unsafe abortions.
